The following is a message from Min. David Wilkerson called "You Cannot Carry Your Own Cross" followed by a video sermon from Min. B.H. Clendennen entitled, "Self-Denial".

You Cannot Carry Your Own Cross

It's very true that Jesus said to His disciples, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross, and follow me." But Jesus could not carry His cross - and neither can you! Jesus fell under the load of His cross, weary, exhausted, and unable to carry it another step. John said, "And he bearing his cross went forth into a place...called Golgotha" (John 19:17). the Bible doesn't tell us how far Jesus carried His cross. We do know they compelled Simon, the Cyrene, to pick it up and carry it to the place of crucifixion (Matthew 27:32).

Questions of the World to Men

There is a difference between knowing the word of God and knowing the God of the Word...

If the Holy Spirit were to stop striving with our churches and leave, most of us would not be able to discern that He is no longer there...
A Time of Revealing

"Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." John 14:10

I have been getting a lot of emails about professing Christians falling into apostasy in droves now - from denying the authority of God's word, claiming there is no need for Christians to repent, and even validating all types of immorality & fornication as acceptable. This is a sign of a reprobate mind.  Jesus said this would occur.

"Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols." Revelation 2:20

Jesus said that the last days church would have to contend with the spirit of Jezebel who teaches and seduces God's servants to commit fornication and ingest idolatry.  When you see professing Christians (male or female) maligning the Lord, justifying idolatry & and encouraging all forms of illicit behavior - you are looking at the spirit of Jezebel at work.

In spite of what people proclaim verbally, what is truly in the heart is being made manifest.  All these years, folks have been sitting next to you in Church...Amening your posts on Facebook...lifting up hands in praise & worship....and talking about how gooood the Lawd is.  Yet behind the scenes they are still revelling in sin.  They are not only still slaves to sin, they have no desire to be free from it.  They love sin and have only used the Lord Jesus Christ as a cloak to cover their unrighteousness.  They are not born again.

DANIEL IN THE LION'S DEN

THE CRIME OF PRAYER

Read Daniel 6

"Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?" Daniel 6:20 NIV

* * *
     This is one of the most familiar stories in the Bible, along with stories like Noah's Ark and David and Goliath–but it is far more than a children's bedtime story. It’s the story of a man who served God continually from the time he was a teenager–taken into Babylonian captivity–until he was a very old man serving Darius, the king of the Medes and Persians.
     No matter what the circumstance, Daniel was faithful to his God. His crime in this story was that he prayed and gave thanks before his God three times a day, as was his custom since early days. (6:10b NKJV) Daniel–a man who seldom had control of his circumstances– served a God who was always in control of his circumstances. This is an amazing truth that most of us find hard to absorb.

* * *
     Lord, I am not likely to face a fiery furnace or hungry lions, but I still struggle to remember who controls my life and the lives of those I love. May it be said of us, like Daniel, “they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful;” (Daniel 6:4b NKJV)
* * *
     Daniel answered, "O king, live forever! My God sent his angel and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king." Daniel 6:21–22 NIV

FAITHFULNESS

SHADRACH, MESHACH AND ABEDNEGO

THE FIERY FURNACE

Read Daniel 3

there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon–Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego–who pay no attention to you, O king. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up." Daniel 3:12 NIV
* * *
Daniel's three friends refused to bow down to Nebuchadnezzar's image of gold, even though the penalty was death in a fiery furnace. But before this ultimate test of their loyalty to God, they had already passed smaller tests. Their refusal to eat the king's food during their training period had resulted in God's blessing and protection.

Now in this greater test they remained faithful saying, "If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." (3:17–18)
* * *
Dear Lord, You have said that “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much.” (Luke 16:10 NKJV) Help us to teach our children that little matters of obedience are very important. Then when the bigger tests of faithfulness and loyalty come along, they will be prepared. Lord, help us to be examples of faithfulness in the little things, as well.
* * *
"Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king's command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God."
Daniel 3:28 NIV

The Oklahoma Tornado

This is a pastor that I listen to from time to time. I don't completely agree with everything that this pastor states. However, he does have a thing or two to say that kind of helps to make some sense out of the recent Oklahoma disaster.

"Was Moore, Oklahoma targeted by HAARP for devastation? There is ample proof in the Scripture that it was SIN. Are the people of Moore, Oklahoma more wicked than any other city or town in the USA? No, and that's the scary part. Over and over again, the Bible says that behind the whirlwind is the wrath of God which is stored up for the wicked with reprobate minds, (meaning there is no hope for them, their sin is set in concrete). God controls the weather and just like Hurricane Isaac, the storm came down at the time the gay pride celebrations were taking place. This was a spiritual matter, not a Mother Nature matter."

edit: I want to add something here. I know that stating the belief that God had something to do with the devestation and loss of life in Oklahoma because of sin comes across as insensitive and hateful to most... But if God truly had nothing to do with this, one must honestly question whether the Scriptures are true, and whether God maintains soveriegn control over all of creation. Is God in control or not? And would you believe that I have encountered many a Christian within these online forums, that will try to coinvince others that God is not in control when it comes to tragedies such as these. They tell me that these things just happen. God would not cause or allow such a thing. And when asked if they believe the enemy (Satan and his demonic kingdom) to be the cause... they are hard pressed to even acknowledge their existance or activity. This brings me to the conclusion that (simply put) they do not know the God that they claim to serve, nor do they believe. I ask them, how many people (including babies and children) do you think perished in the flood of Noah's day? The response is often that the flood never happened or it was only a local disaster. These "Christians"... they don't know God, nor can they believe or accept His word. I think the reason behind this condition is possibly because they have not been regenerated so that they can believe and accept.

God Bless

Paul said to put on the entire armor of God. I take what he said very seriously, because I believe we are at war. I'm not talking about a physical war, but a spiritual war. The church is, or should be fighting for the souls of families, loved ones, and even its enemies. I have had a few spiritual battles myself... Jesus said all power is given unto me in heaven and earth.

Matthew 28
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

All power belongs to him. And the scripture promises nothing by any means shall hurt you.

Luke 10
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

I give unto you power, over all of the power of the enemy and nothing by any means shall harm you. That's the promise of Jesus. That comes from the highest authority in heaven and earth. We cannot be defeated. Now, the only people that will be defeated, are those that decide to be defeated.

Looking back over the past three posts, I believe we can begin to see the frame which was spoken of in the first post of this series. So as I previously stated, just about everything from Genesis to Revelation deals primarily with the Adamic race(the descendants of Adam). Anything else in the Scriptures can be looked at as a kind of frame for this picture... that picture being God dealing with mankind. The frame is important but only to present the picture. But in order to get the picture right, I think we have to get the frame right.

Now in addressing the last aspect of this frame that I'll attempt to go over, the questions must asked who and what are we fighting? The question must be asked, who or what are these demons that we seem to be locked into conflict with?

I have been convinced that demons are the disembodied spirits of a race of beings that existed before Adam ever walked the planet. Let me explain why I believe this. I know that this is a lot of information, and it may take some time to grasp the idea of the frame I am attempting to present. But I ask that those following this series to please be patient and to give this some time and prayer.
